Date: Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Topic: DELAYED FOR THE BEST

Read: Ecclesiasties 3:1-11

MEMORISE:
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)

EXPOSITION
Delays, unarguably, are dangerous. In fact, to be blunt, we can say they are not only dangerous, but also very deadly! However, we seem to be oblivious of the fact that there are sometimes divine delays. God may choose to delay certain things for the reason or reasons best known to Him. And He can never be questioned for that! F(Isaiah 40:13-14)*. That God does not come to the scene of action at the very time being expected by his children does not equal weakness or uncared attitude on His part. Rather, He takes men through wilderness to test and examine them; to know their intents and also to decipher, if they are truly His children during those waiting periods. (Deuteronomy 8:2-3)

However, when God brings delays in an aspect of your life or the other, it doesn't signify denial. You would definitely get there at His chosen time. He only wants you to wait for, and on Him. Abraham, the father of faith, became a father only when he was 100 years old. Though delayed, he wasn't denied (Hebrews 11:39). You remember Hannah? She also experienced delay before getting her Samuel (1 Samuel 1:6-8). What about the aged Zachariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:15-17)?

Your own waiting period may not be as lengthy as those of these Bible character. Yet, be aware that when it comes, it is still part of God's plan for you. Don't see God as uncaring or insensitive. God is still God. He is no man that He should lie. He has promised. He will never fail. It is only incumbent on you to wait for the fulfilment (Romans 8:32).

The world's delay in giving justice is a tactic to deny the just, but God's seeming delay (waiting, on man's part) aims at preparing, removing dross, consolidating the future, making room for testimonies after trials, and glorifying God. Receive the needed strength and patience to wait for God's timely intervention (miracle), in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Oh God, I covet and depend on Your Strength to carry me through.
2. Lord, help me to see life situations the way You see them, always.
3. Pray for our bachelors and spinsters who are of marriage age, that God should give them the needed patience to wait for God's best for them.
